Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy applies to residents of Washington State under the My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373), residents of Nevada under Nevada law (SB 370), and residents of other U.S. states with similar laws. It supplements the Totemy Privacy Policy (https://totemy.app/privacy) and explains how Totemico LLC ("Totemico", "we", "us") handles consumer health data in the Totemy app and on our websites.

The short version
  • Totemy is a family organizer, not a health service. We do not ask for health information.
  • If you choose to write about your or your child's health in the chat or Sessions, we use it only to give you the answer you asked for.
  • We never sell consumer health data and never use it for advertising.
  • You can access, delete or stop the processing of this data at any time.

1. What "consumer health data" means here
Consumer health data is personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and identifies your past, present or future physical or mental health status. We do not request this kind of information. However, because you can write freely in the AI chat and in Sessions, and because some features relate to family well-being, we may receive or generate information that falls within this definition.

2. Categories of consumer health data we may collect
  • What you choose to write in the AI chat or in Sessions about your own or your child's physical or mental health, for example stress, sleep, mood, emotional difficulties or symptoms.
  • Your answers to questions in onboarding and Sessions that may reflect your emotional state, for example what worries you most.
  • Use of well-being features, for example the fact that you opened a self-calming technique on the home screen.
  • Load indicator values, which the app calculates from your child's schedule. They estimate how busy the schedule is; they are not a health measurement.

3. Sources
  • Directly from you, when you type or select information in the app.
  • Generated by the app from information you provided (for example, the load indicator and AI answers).

4. How we use consumer health data
  • To provide the feature you requested: answering your question, giving recommendations in a Session, or showing the load indicator.
  • To keep you safe: to detect messages that may indicate a crisis and show helpline information for your country.
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To comply with the law.
We do not sell consumer health data, use it for advertising or targeted advertising, use it to build marketing profiles, or share it with advertising partners. We do not send it to our analytics or crash-reporting tools.

5. Consent
We collect consumer health data only to the extent necessary to provide the feature you choose to use, and only when you decide to share it. Content you write in the AI chat or Sessions is processed by our AI provider only after you give permission in the app. If we ever want to collect or share consumer health data for any other purpose, we will first ask for your separate, express consent. We will never sell consumer health data.

6. Who receives consumer health data
We do not share consumer health data with third parties. We have no affiliates that receive it. We disclose it only to the following processors, which handle it on our behalf, under contracts that allow them to use it only to provide services to us:
  • OpenAI, L.L.C. (USA) — generating AI answers, only after you give permission.
  • Pinecone Systems, Inc. (USA) — storing representations of content used to find relevant information for AI answers.
  • Amazon Web Services, Inc. (USA) — hosting and storage.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — secure (HTTPS) delivery of data between the app and our servers.
We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process.

7. Your rights
  • Access: confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and receive a copy, together with a list of all third parties and affiliates with whom we have shared it and their contact information.
  • Withdraw consent: stop the processing of your consumer health data. You can also withdraw AI permission as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Delete: have your consumer health data deleted. We will also instruct our processors to delete it. Data in backup systems is deleted within six months of your verified request.
  • Appeal: appeal our decision if we decline your request.

How to exercise your rights: write to support@totemy.app with the subject "Consumer Health Data Request", or delete your account in the app (Account → Delete account) or at https://totemy.app/delacc. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend this period once by 45 days and will tell you why. Requests are free of charge at least twice a year. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Appeals: if we decline your request, write to support@totemy.app with the subject "Consumer Health Data Appeal" within a reasonable time. We will respond within 45 days and explain our decision. If your appeal is denied, you may contact the Washington State Attorney General (www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint) or the Attorney General of your state.

8. Security
Access to consumer health data is limited to staff who need it to provide the Service, investigate safety issues or meet legal obligations. We protect it with encryption in transit and at rest and with access controls.
